Native to Atlanta and son of long time builder/ developer JD Brooks, Steve Brooks grew up in the building business. Starting at ten years old, at his father’s side, he has learned from the ground up. From 1975 to 1985, summer vacations and holidays were spent on the job learning all aspects of the trade.
In 1986, Steve started his own company, building on lots he purchased from his father. He continued his career path as a Regional Construction Manager for Homeland Communities into the nineties. During these years, he advanced to VP of Construction, and in 1996, Steve was promoted to President and Partner of Homeland Legacy, Inc. “We focused on quality of construction, and consumer expectations and relationships,” says Steve. During his fourteen years at the helm, Homeland was one of Atlanta’s leading and most respected building companies. The quality of construction and style shows at Suwanee Station and the thousands of homes across the Atlanta area built by Steve Brooks through Homeland Legacy, Inc. Today, Steve brings over thirty years of home building experience to Journey Construction.
